Pictures!

Sad faces for Nni's scratched eye (and yes, my new haircolor is Special Effect's Cherry Bomb).

And here's Caesar, on HIS bed (that he just shares with the rest of us).
Hello all!

We've had a busy week. Here's the wrap-up.

Friday, we went to the Copper Rocket to see the Psycho Devilles show. The opening act, Big Jeff special, were pretty good. They were energetic and fun (though the lead singer, wearing just overalls, looked eerily like the kid who played the banjo in Deliverance). The Psycho Devilles rocked, though we wanted to buy a CD and their Merch table was abandoned the hole night.

Saturday, we went to the Enzian to see Repo! The Genetic Opera. We'd already seen the film, but this time was with a cast (Rocky Horror-style). It was the casts first time performing in public, and they did a great job. That movie is the perfect mix of horror and musical to get the audiance-participation treatment. The pre-show was too long, but otherwise it was a good entertainment. Plus, mango mojitos and rasberry beingets at the Enzian are always a treat.

Sunday, we had to work. But it was for the load-in of Disney on Ice rehearsals, so it was nice to see old friends. It was wierd working it as a local and not roadcrew. Hopefully, we'll get another chance to see our roadie friends before they leave O-Town for their tour.

Monday, was a sad day. Nani woke up with her right eye all squinty. We ended up spending the afternoon at the vet. SHe has a scratch on her eye. We are not sure how it got their (probably playing with Caesar). Now we have two different ointments we have to put in her eye twice a day. Luckily though, she doesn't have to wear a cone.

Tuesday, we went back to the Enzian. This time for the 40th Anniversary of Easy Rider. Great film, great food (Double-fried purple Okinawa sweet potatoes), and we even ran into some friends (Hi Rachel and Wysh!).

Tonight we are heading on over to the Audobon Park Community Market. Buy some local veggies and eggs, and hear some music.

Hope everyone is doing well! Keep Nani in your prayers/thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Picture time! Here's hubby welding.

We walked around Park Ave the other day. Enjoyed the lovely weather and met lots of cute doggies. Hubby took pics.

Let's try this again. (I just posted a blog entry from my ibook, forgetting that for some reason, my mac hates my blog and never works. SO I'm typing this from hubby's PC laptop.)

SInce we had time today, hubby and I decided to have a real breakfast, as opposed to our usual "pop something frozen into the toaster" breakfast. So hubby made pancakes, I made blueberry sauce, and we topped it off with banana slices and whipped cream. Yummy!

Here's the recipe I used for the blueberry sauce.
Combine 1pint blueberries with 3/4cup maple syrup in small saucepan. Cooking over medium heat, stirring often to prevent scorching. Bring to a boil. THen remove from heat and allow to cool.

Next time, I'm gonna try to a strawberry sauce recipe I have (that uses vanilla, brown suger, and OJ). It should be delish!

This week is mainly going to be spent packing. ANd going through old stuff. We've decided to have a yard sale, since we just have way too much junk.

On Friday night, we'll be at the Copper Rocket for the Psycho de Villes show.
On Saturday night, we'll be at the Enzian for Repo! The Genetic Opera (with a shadow cast).

THats all for now. I think we're gonna head down to Park Ave today, since the weathers good (and with Hurricane season upon us, figure we should enjoy the good weather while it lasts).

Alright, time for a real update. First off, Gladys is gone. For those of you who don't know, Gladys was our 1986 Dodge Charger. We didn't really need it since we also have a truck, so we sold the car on Craigslist. Funny thing is, the insurance is less on the truck (which is newer and in better shape) than it was on the car (since the car lacks anti-lock brakes). The car survived tour (although having been towed all over the US behind the RV it did go thru quite a few tires). Bye Gladys!

Second, we had a great time at Lau Gardens on Friday. They showed Breakfast at Tiffany's. I want Audrey Hepburn's wardrobe. ANyway, here is a pic from the park.

Tonight, we went to A Comic Shop for Marvel Comics 70th anniversary. There was free beer, free cake, and and even giveaways (alas, we did not win anything). I was suprised at the crowd (given that it was a comic book shop)

My one complaint about the night, they were advertising Marvel girls in bodypaint. So, we brought the camera thinking hubby could get pictures of hot girls.
We expected this

What we got was this

Now, the girls were all very nice. I just think bodypaint does not equal clothing. If you aren't in good enough shape to walk around naked, you aren't in good enough shape to walk around in body paint. I wouldn't do it. Know your limits ladies. THey would have looked much better in real costumes (maybe the corset/suck it in type.

Okay, thats it for now. Thursday is Winter Park movie in the park night, so we're gonna try to make it. The film is "The Pink Panther Strikes Again".

Night all. Got to get up early tomorrow and turn in the plate for the car. Then grocery shopping. I got a new recipe for sweet potato fries I want to try out.

John Hughes died today. I grew up watching his films. I loved the Breakfast Club, Wierd Science, and Sixteen Candles (especially the Breakfast Club...though I hated Ally SHeedy's makeover at the end). Pretty in Pink is great (especially Annie Potts character), until the end when she ends up with the wrong guy (Duckie was the guy for Andie, not Blane).

People forget the Hughes also wrote the Home Alone films and the Bethoven films (which is probably for the best).

RIP John Hughes.

Hello All!
When we were on tour, we spent most of our days off exploring whatever city/state/country we happened to be in at the time. We went to Cadillac Ranch, the CN Tower, all sorts of attractions. Being at home, we don't get that much opportunity to do that sort of thing anymore. SO, we've decided to do more sightseeing here in Florida. We made a list, and are going to try and do more Non-Disney attractions. We'll see how it goes in the next few months.
Hubby and I both had the day off today (which hasn't happened in a while). So we went to Lakefront Park (on Lake Toho) in Kissimmee.
Here are some of the pics hubby took:

We also went to the "Monument of States", which has rocks from all fifty states and 20 different countries. It was completed in 1943 and used to be featured on postcards from the area.

Now, time for dinner. Tommorrow, Union meeting. Friday, Date Night. FOr date night we are going to have a romantic picnic and go see "Breakfast at Tiffany's" at Leu Gardens.
