Hello!
Here's another weekend wrapup. Friday we went to the Peacock Room to see some local bands. The Nova Rays played some great instrumental surf rock, followed by Knockdown Dragout with some fantastic rockabilly.

Then on Saturday, we went to Wekiva with mom & her friend Ben. To celebrate literacy month, the Florida state parks system had free admission if you show your library card or donate a book (we did both...what else was I gonna do with the copy of Faulkner's As I Lay Dying that I bought for Highschool?).
We hiked some trails, went to the nature center (right in time to see the gator feeding), and swam in the springs. We were going to canoe, but the weather was kinda iffy, so maybe another time. We also met a group from Guatemala who were very entertaining trying to build a pyramid in the springs. Here are some pics.

Thats all for now. Wednesday, Motorhead & Reverend Horton Heat at HOB.

Last night, hubby and I went to Lakeland to see the preview of Celebrations new. It was a great chance to visit with old friends, and see DOI's newest show.
Here are some pics:

JACK SKELLINGTON (I love Nightmare Before Christmas so I was so looking foward to seeing him)

The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Mickey) is tempted with an apple while classic villians look on.

Everyone gets in the Halloween spirit (yes, that is Donald and Pluto in the background)

Minnie meets her Fairy Godmother

Aladdin & Jasmine

Things get a little romantic for the Princes & Princesses (Mickey & Minnie too)

Great effect. Fire on the Ice.

Goofy does the Limbo while visiting Lilo & Stitch (& family) in Hawaii.

Disney's newest Princess (from the upcoming Frog Prince movie). Great New Orleans-style costumes for this segment.

Finale group shot. Very Christmasy.

Today, Tommorrow and Sunday is work, work, work. Rehearsals (for another DOI show) here in town. Saturday night we're also heading to House of Blues for Traverser's CD release party. SHould be a good show, I highly recommend it for anyone in O-Town. Come out and support local bands. Monday is Labor Day, so we will be heading down to Lake Eola for the AFL-CIO picnic (free food for Union members).

GTG. We are catchin up on the Netflix. Battlestar Galactica Series Finale, Tokyo Gore Police, and Dollhouse Season 1.

Pictures! These are from Disney Boardwalk. We took them over the weekend. And now while you look at pics, I am going to bake. We are going to see the preview of DOI's new show tomorrow. I am making Dessert bars. Bottom layer is brownie, top layer is chocolate chip cookie dough, the middle is cheesecake filling. I have to make them tonight due to the fact that they need to sit in the fridge over night for the filling to harden. Yummy!
