Well, 2005 is almost over. So, here is my yearly wrap up.

Highlights of the year:
1) Getting engaged!
2) Nate getting his job at Sea World.
3) Visits from Nate's parents, Marcus, Mark, Tiffany. Who cares if you can't afford a vacation, when you live in Orlando, everyone comes to you.
4) SGFL camping trip. You know, drinking in the woods actually is fun.
5) new tattoos (including Nate's first)and getting our dogs

best movies we saw this year:
1) The Aristocrats
2) Murderball
3) Reefer Madness:the Musical and RENT (both good, Rent wasn't as good as the play, but Reefer Madness surpassed the original)
4) 40 Year Old Virgin
5) Batman Begins, Serenity, and Sin City (blame my mom for the love of sci-fi)

I don't buy CDs, but these were my fave downloads this year:
1) Nine Inch Nails- With Teeth
2) Gorillaz- Demon Days
3) Sigur Ros- Takk
4) Death Cab for Cutie- Plan
5) William Shatner - Has Been

Favorite TV shows (ie the only shows I watch on a regular basis)
1) Lost
2) House
3) Veronica Mars
4) Alias (it sucks this season, but I just want to see how they wrap everything up in the end)
5) CSI

Things in 2005 that I am sick of hearing about/seeing, etc:
1) Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes (Who cares? Ignore them and they will go away)
2) Stupid Songs, like Gwen Stefani's Bananas & Black Eyed Pea's My Humps'
3) reality TV (c'mon isn't this over already?)
4) sequins. what is with the bad 80s fashion? Sequin purses, sequin belts...the only people who should be wearing sequins are figure skaters and kids at dance recitals
5) Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Tara Reid, the Olsen Twins, really any anorexic bottle blond with no talent who's famous for nothing other than wearing skimpy clothes and doing lots of coke

Things to look foward to in 2006:
1) getting married!
2) Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert (for Nate's Birthday)
3) spending a week in Key West with our friends and family
4) have to find time to go to NY to see Cyndi Lauper in 'Three Penny Opera' and to see 'Lestat' on Broadway
5) Nate and my first year as a married couple

That's about it.
Happy New Year!

updated to add: My grandmother's dog, Koti, recently passed away. He was a wonderful pet. Even at his advanced age, he always acted like a puppy. He was an important memnber of the family. If you would like to, please donate to your local animal shelter in his memory.

Christmas update: So, Nate and I both had to work on Christmas Day. We did manage to snag a day off for christmas eve though, went down to my grandparent's house. It was Nate's first christmas with my family (although, he has met them before). I warned him ahead of time, but I don't think anything can prepare you for birthday cake for Jesus and wise men with Burger King crowns.

Picture time!

Max, the Grinch and me.

Christmas tree at work.

My grandparents gave us all matching shirts with our names embroidered on them, we look like a bowling team.

My mom sang "Oh, Holy Night" (with Aunt Donna accompanying her on piano, and cousin Hope doing the song in sign language)

Our family reenacting the Natitivity (its a tradition, we do it every year).

Caesar got a toy box.

Nani got new sunglasses.

Our wedding invitations came in, so once we have a day off to send them all out we will. You all should be recieving them sometime in January.

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope everyone has fun. Drive safely! (I'll be busy working on New Year's eve).

Monday, December 19, 2005

This is Nate and I all dressed up for dinner at Victoria & Albert's.

So, last night we went to the movies. We saw White Christmas (the old Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye movie). That is my favorite holiday film, and they were showing it at the movie theatre. The are showing It's a Wonderful Life, too. But I always thought that was depressing.
Saturday night we went to a party at my friend Keagan's house. Here are some pics.

We are teaching Nani to Hula.

Have to work all week, but I did manage to get Saturday off (I have to work xmas, though). So for Christmas Eve, we are going to my grandmother's house.

Anyway, got to go do the dishes. I'm so domestic now, isn't that shocking?

Sunday, December 18, 2005

We ordered the wedding invitations. Expect them around New year's. And we have decided not to have a rehearsal dinner (since we won't be having a rehearsal). We will be having a pool party, however, the day before the wedding at Casa Serendipity. Food, margaritas, music, should be alot of fun. And hey, what's the point of renting a house with a private pool, if you don't have a party?
Now, I am focusing on all the little things, like flowers. With a black and white wedding, flowers are complicated. There are no black flowers, and white flowers would just dissappear into my dress. Also, we want to decorate the ceremony somehow, but it seems silly to put tiki torches out when it will still be daylight. Would it be wierd to use an aisle runner on a beach? Also, I don't want to make a mess on the beach, so I'm not sure how much I can get away with. Oh well. have to give it some thought.

If anyone has ideas though, we would love to hear them!
Good news.

We've decided not to cancel the wedding. We will find a way to make it work. Just have to cancel some stuff (no steel drums for instance). If all else fails, we will probably end up having to postpone having a family for a couple years until we pay off the wedding debt.

Oh well. So, for the next five months, we will have no life. No travel, no going out, and we will be begging for all the hours at work that we can get.

As long as the car doesn't break down, and no one gets sick, we will make it work.

See you all in Key West, it will be amazing!

Saturday, December 17, 2005

I have some horrible news. Nate and I are seriously considering canceling our wedding. We just can't afford it. And, if we cancel it now, we can still get all of our deposits back, and our guests can still refund plane tix and hotel rooms. We have been going over the bills and we cannot find anyway to do it. Both of us have very large credit card bills (almost completely comprised of wedding deposits on photographers, accomodations, etc.) and it just down't seem logical to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding when that money could go toward paying off credit cards and paying our mortgage, plus property taxes are coming up. We were both looking foward to this wedding so much, but now it looks like a good possibility we will end up just going to city hall.
We are going to think about it, and decide in the new year.
But for those of you planning on coming to the wedding, don't buy any plane tix without talking to us first.

Sorry everyone. I am going to go cry now.

So, I just spent all this time writing a great blog entry, only to discover for some reason I can't access my iDisk, so none of my pictures show up.
I got a new tattoo, also went to Discovery Cove for my birthday.
To see pics, go here.

More later when I have more time.

SO cute!!!

Anyway, nothing to say. I am feeling a little better. Endometriosis sucks, but at least I should feel okay for the next few weeks.

Tomorrow is my birthday. We are going to Discovery Cove and then probably going to get new tattoos.

Oh, and I just got Murderball from Netflix.

That's about it. Have to clean my house, Tiffany is flying down on Wednesday and will be staying with us for a few days, have to make the place all pretty.

Will post more after my birthday.

Oh, and I took this quiz. Totally expected to get democrat, but turns out I got socialist. Woah. Crazy. Especially since I am marrying a republican (scary, I know)

I went out last night for my best friend Amy's birthday. Aren't we cute? Nate was nice enough to play designated driver. We went to BarBQ Bar and to Tabu (vip table for the birthday girl even).

My birthday is on Friday.

You know what sucks? Endometriosis. You know what sucks even more? Not having medical insurace and having to go through all this pain without meds. Ouch! I could hardly walk today I was in so much pain. And, I was recently asked if Nate and I are going to start a family once we are married. To everyone reading this, PLEASE DON"T ASK ME STUFF LIKE THAT!!! I have suffered from Endometriosis for many years, and chances are even if I can have kids, it would be a high-risk pregnancy, so don't bother asking me. It just makes me sad, and mad, and miserable.

Sorry for the outburst, but I feel horrible.Pain, disgusting symptoms too numerous to mention, and I can hardly move.

Oh well. I will survive, I have before. Hopefully I will feel better by my birthday.

I need a new couch. Anyone want to buy me one?

Didn't think so. Oh well.

Anyway, my birthday is coming up (Dec.2) and Christmas is right around the corner.
If anyone reading this cares to get me a present, you can check out my Wishlist or check out Nate's and my Pottery Barn Registry or our Pier One Registry.

Anyway, not much going on here. Thanksgiving is this week. But, we're both working too much to do anything.

I am trying to figure out what to get people for christmas. ANyone know of any good gifts for Grandparents? They are always so hard to shop for. Of course, when I ask them what they want, all they say is "Oh, you don't have to get us anything". But of course I will.

So, I think for my birthday we are going to go to Discover Cove and I will probably go get a new tattoo.

Bye all! Have a good thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 17, 2005

So, for those of you who read this, you may remember back in September when I was complaining about decorating the motorcycles for Halloween. Well, yesterday, I had to take it all apart.
These were them before we tore off all the Halloweeny stuff.

I got two new shirts. I love them.

Been fixing the home up.
Got more stuff for the tiki bar.

Bought a new dresser. Half off at thriftko. I love that place.

Got more frames for my autographs. I have more to put up. But so far on the wall are Amina Munster, Twwly Suicide, Dita VonTeese, and Julie Benz.

And now for the cute doggie pics, no update would be complete without them.

Monday, November 14, 2005

So, RENT (the movie) comes out on the 23rd. :) :) :) :) :)

I have a RENT (the play) tattoo. This is the only pic I could find of it. (I don't take many pictures of my back).

It say "No Day But Today" around a red ribbon.

I bought the soundtrack today from itunes. Sounds great. I'm working my way through it right now.

But first, Harry Potter and Walk the Line come out.

Day off tomorrow. Lots of errands and stuff to do. I wish I could just have a day to sleep. Not likely anytime soon though.

Thursday, November 10, 2005

I guess I'm old for my age. And I guess Nate is young for his. I am 26, he is 34. We each took this quiz, and both got 31.

You Are 31 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Picture time!

So I've had a few people ask about it, so here is a pic of my engagement ring. It is a 1 carat band comprised of baguette diamonds surrounded by round diamonds. It's not a traditional engagement ring, but I wanted something I could wear at work, so this is perfect.

Now on to the cute doggie pictures.

this Boston's not mine, just a friend from the dog park

Halloween Horror Nights is over. I can have a life again. Once I catch up on my sleep that is.
Here is a pick of the scare-actors from Cold Blind Terror in the foam room.

Nice bunch of kids. But they went alittle crazy on the last night. Destroyed the house.

Those little shits. The stage manager even told them NOT to damage the house. THey went crazy anyway. The whole room looks like swiss cheese.

Oh well.
I have a job interview tomorrow. Hopefully I will get it as I really need medical insurance and the position is full time. I know a lot of people are vying for it though, people who have been with the company longer than me, so we will see.

Have to go to work tonight. Halloween needs to be struck.
Bye all.

Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Picture time.

We bought the dogs sweaters. Figure they should get used to wearing them for when we go visit our families up north.
Nani's is pink and navy.

Caesar's is green and navy.

Aren't they cute?

Stole this from Chas' Blog.
Here is Nate's map. The red states are the ones he's been to.

This would be all the countries Nate's been to. I didn't bother doing this one. Haven't really gone to too many places outside of this hemisphere.

I want to get a copy of the movie "Yellowbeard" (came out in 1983).
It hasn't been released on DVD and I can't seem to find it on VHS anywhere.
Anyone know where I can get it?
UNIVERSAL IS CLOSED TOMORROW!!!!! Woo-hoo! Sad how I actually like hurricanes, they give me a day off work. So hunker down everyone. I will be watching DVDs on the laptop and drinking a beer. Last I heard, Sea WOrld was staying open, so nate has to work, so I will be at home alone with the puppies.
Just heard Wilma turned south. maybe I will luck out and the weather won't be bad, and I'll still have the day off work. Not likely though, if it clears up, they will probably call everyone back in to set up all the Halloween crap we had to put away in preparation. Oh well.
Off to bed. Sweet dreams. And for those of you in Wilma's path, stay safe. Hunker down.

A moment of silence please.
Xanadu, Florida's "Home of the Future" has been demolished.
I am so disappointed. If I had known, I would have gone over with my camera and done some urban exploration before they tore it down.
Oh well. To read more on Xanadu, go here.
Hello Everyone!
So, work is crazy. Saw a drunk girl projectile vomit last night. Ewwwwwww. And there is a hurricane coming, so everyone at work is freaking out. We have a lot of equipment set up outside for Halloween Horror Nights and we'd rather not have it all destroyed. Wedding planning is coming along pretty well. Still need to hire the band, the one we wanted is booked on the day of our wedding, so now we have to find another steel drum band that we like. My maid of honor, Tiffany is flying down to Florida in December, so it will be good to see her.
Speaking of December, my birthday is approaching. So, I have updated my wishlist. Anyone who doesn't know what to get me, just click here
So, we got more stuff for our tiki bar. Looks great, I will post pics when I have the time.

Wednesday, October 19, 2005

I need to win the lottery. I am so broke right now and my credit card debt is sooooo high. Why? Because of the wedding. In the past month we have put the deposit down on the house, the photographer, the reception, I bought my dress. Aurgh! This small simple wedding is anything but. So expensive. Nate and I are both close to maxing out our credit cards over this thing. So no more ebay, no more movies, no more buying my dinner at work. I am going to be living on peanut butter for the next six months or so. Nate and I wanted to buy a new couch (we love!) but until the wedding, and for quite a while after it, we will be paying for everyone else to have a good time. Should have just eloped like we originally planned. Oh well. Too late now.
I need to win the lottery. Or get a job that pays more.

Saturday, October 15, 2005

Yawn! I am so tired! Halloween Horror Nights is totally wiping me out. My haunted house floods every night, and drunk guests keep assaulting our scare actors (even had one guy get his nose broken). It is crazy. I will be so happy when November hits and all this stuff is over.
Been going crazy on ebay lately. Buying stuff for our bar. We have a tiki bar, so if anyone knows of a good place to get tiki mugs and nick nacks, let me know. Also, we have wallpapered our stairwell with records, I will put pics up of that when I finally have a day off. Looks good, but we still need to get more albums. Have to go back to Rock n' Roll Heaven next time Nate and I have a day off together.

Gotta go now, have to be at work soon.

Friday, October 07, 2005

Nothing to say really. Pic is from a party I went to before Halloween Horror Nights took over my life. Busy Busy Busy.

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

I bought my wedding dress today!!!!

To see pictures of me in it, go to this page

It's funny our wedding started off as beach themed, and now is more rockabilly.

Really busy with work. Halloween Horror Nights is in full effect. If anyone goes, I'm the FX Tech in soundstage 20 "Cold Blind Terror". Feel free to say hi!

The doggies are doing great, cute as ever. Nani is getting bigger every day, and Caesar loves having someone to play with.

Anyway, time for bed.
Sweet dreams!

I must be an idiot savant. These are the results of the mini IQ test I just took.
Your IQ Is 115

Your Logical Intelligence is Below Average

Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius

Your Mathematical Intelligence is Exceptional

Your General Knowledge is Average

So, I am highly illogical. But a verbal genius and exceptional at math. Basically, I am smart at the useless things that were good for school but bad in real life. Isn't logic important? Must not be since I'm survivng "below average".

Oh well.

More puppy pictures. Bask in the cuteness!!
