We have so much moving to do before we leave for tour.

So of course a hurricane hits.

This totally screws our plans.
Guess what?

AMy comes home from China today!

Happy Dance!

RIght now I am packing, and watching the Tyra Banks show. Lame, I know. But we don't have cable. THere is a guest on the show who has a phobia of styrofoam. STYROFOAM! What the hell? How completely irrational is that? I mean, I understand phobias of spiders, snakes, needles, things that could possibly harm you. But styrofoam? THat's just silly.

Countdown till we leave is on. Today is Nate's last day at work. Tomorrow we have to go get our passports, get the RV registered, move everything to my mom's house. Saturday we leave for tour.

If anyone reading this lives in San Francisco, on Friday, October 13th there will be a benfit concert for Devon Blood. Its at the Gilman Street Project. For those of you who don't know, Devon is a very talented tattoo artist and a friend-of-a-friend of mine. Devon was shot in the head while trying to protect his girlfriend during an attempted burglary of her home. So any of you in the San Francisco/Oakland area, there are a number of benfit concerts/art shows/etc. going on to raise money for Devon's medical costs. Please do what you can. Thanks.
Read this today. It made me cry.

Now I am off to wake up the hubby. Its time to shampoo the carpets. We have an open house today, so lots of cleaning to do.

Hopefully the open house will go well. I keep having people tell me we should rent out the condo, that way we can sell it once the market improves. But at this point its not so much about the money, but the hassle. Owning property while on tour is a pain. What happens if we go to Japan, or Europe? We don't want to still be paying our mortgage. Hopefully it will sell soon. Also, once it sells, we can pay off our credit cards from the wedding. I mean, I loved the wedding. It was beautiful. But I really don't want to spend the next two years paying it off.

I think I want to get my ear pierced. Probably with an Industrial piercing. Not sure though. Its wierd, I have all these tattoos, which are permanent, yet I have no piercings. I'm much more indecisive about piercings. I guess becuase they are not permanent. Doesn't seem worth it to go through the pain, expense, and hassle for something that I will only have for a few years. Plus, I've just seen too many things go wrong (infections, getting jewelry snagged on things, etc.)

I'm very ADD today. My mind just keeps skipping topics. (No, I don't really have ADD, it's just a wierd day).

Went shopping with my mom yesterday. Well, really I shopped and she just drove me around. I got plastic dishes, a rug, new sheets, all for the RV. Today during the open house the dogs and I are going to go hang out in the RV and unpack stuff, that way they won't be jumping around on prospective buyers (esp. since Nani is in heat right now).

I am in the living room right now, on my laptop. Nate nad the dogs are all sleeping in the bedroom. The three of them snore so loud I can hear them. It is so cute.

Off to clean. I'll write more later if I get the chance, I took pics of my last day at work, I just haven't had time to upload them.

Today is my last day at my current job.

Kind of bittersweet.

I am glad to be leaving, especially since the new job pays better, this way Nate and I can pay off the credit card bills we racked up from the wedding.

My current job is really easy though, and going back to tour is hard work. I'm afraid I've lost my "edge" and have become lazy. Tour is oing to be tough for the first few weeks until I get used to it again. I am so out of shape now.

Plus, I will miss everyone. I work with a great group. I made cookies to bring in for my last day. And I think I'll take in my camera too. I may go visit next week, as I have the whole week off to pack.

But, an added bonus to leaving is I will never have to hear anyone yell "PROFESSOR!" ever again.

You know what stinks?

Amy comes home from tour the same week I leave for tour.

Damn.

Anyway, here are some pics from the party at SeanDave's on Saturday. Had a lot of fun, but the damn battery on my camera didn't last long.

On the road again...

We made a rather large purchase today.

Yes, folks, the rumors are true. We are going back on tour. We have purchased an RV and will be taking the dogs with us. We leave the beginning of September. We will be going to California, Canada, all over the place. When I have the specifics, I'll let everyone know.

The next two weeks will be really busy. We have to move everything out of our condo, pack for tour, all that jazz.

I'll write more when I have more time.

Went to the movies last night with the gang. Movie rocked. It was bad, in a so-bad-it's -good kind of way. Go see it.

Big news coming. Changes on the horizon.

Too soon to tell though.

And no, I AM NOT PREGNANT. Why does everyone assume when a girl has big news it means a baby?

Monday, August 14, 2006

When I have money again (i.e. when we sell the condo and have the wedding paid off), I totally want to buy this dress from DangerDame.com.

WITH the pink crinoline for underneath.

I love that store.

We're doing an open house for our condo today.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed!

One of my faqvorite books is "Atlas Shrugged". Now I realize Ayn Rand is an acquired taste. And many people are shocked that I'm a fan (especially considering her extreme capitalism compared to the fact that I am so left I teeter on socialist). I even plan on getting a "Who is John Galt?" tattoo at some point.

What's bugging me now is the fact that Angelina Jolie is in talks to play the lead, Dagny Taggert in the upcoming film adaptation of the book. I think she could actually be pretty good in the role.

But Brad Pitt is in talks to play John Galt.

Nooooo! That would be horrible. Besides the fact that their personal relationship would overshadow any press the film gets, is the fact that he seems completely wrong for the part. Yuck!

Oh well. That's my rant for today.

And here's something to think about:
How do blind people know when they're done wiping?
I am not a morning person.

But, today we are going to go get stuff changed in order to get my new *married* name. ANd since government building are always super crazy, we are planning on being there when they open. Hopefully, this won't take all day.

Oh, and for those of you who care to know, I am also planning on swapping my first and middle names. I figure I've always gone by my middle name anyway, and it would just save people from confusion if it were my first name.
